As described in the book MEG by author Steve Alten, The Tanaka Oceanographic Institute is a man-made lagoon used to house pods of whales specifically gray and even humpback whales. The seating capacity of the stadium can hold a crowd of up to 10,000 in capacity. Later in the story it was used as a temporary home for the prehistoric shark Megalodon. This is a my representation of the stadium commisoned by Steve Alten, it is a later depiction of the image that took place in the fifth book in the series called MEG: NIGHSTALKERS. The book is schedule for release this year, I've created a number of illustrations for the interior pages and will post them soon. The first novel MEG has been optioned by Warner Bros. and will be made into a feature film, MEG is schedule for release on March 2, 2018. Notable stars so far includes Jason Stratham and BingBing Fan.
